  • Brand new with Two Year Warranty.
  • X10 PRO Brand model number XPNR Noise Reducer.
  • Simple two wire connection. Gets wired across the AC line of the device that's generating noise causing X10 signal interference. Connects between AC hot and AC neutral.
  • Contains a tuned impedance circuit that is invisible to X10 modules.
  • Grounds out AC line noise generated by appliances or any electrical devices that you've identified as "electrically noisy" that's causing problems with your X10 systems signal reliability.
  • The XPNR Noise Reducer doesn't filter the AC load but rather eliminates the AC interference by "shorting" it to AC neutral. Since the full load of the device doesn't actually have to pass thru the XPNR, you don't have to worry about any amperage or wattage ratings.
  • Attenuates signals above and below 120KHz. In other words it leaves the X10 signals alone and removes the rest.
  • Tiny in size measuring only 1.25 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches long.
  • Can be installed at the device generating the noise, inside the outlet, at the breaker, or all of the above. For the best operation, it's best to install it right at the device. But for more serious noise problems, you can add one in several locations as needed.
  • Because of it's design to shunt AC noise to ground, XPNR Noise Reducer actually works to help protect devices against power surges and spikes. The XPNR does not take the place of a power surge suppressor, so do not rely on it for surge protection as it isn't really designed for that purpose.
  • Rated for 120/240 volts AC, 60Hz.
  • Can be used on a 220/240 Volt AC device by putting one XPNR on each of the AC Hot leads.

This is the X10 PRO brand noise reducer model number XPNR. If some of your X10 modules don't work as they should when certain devices such as TV's, VCR's, fluorescent lights, computers, or appliances are ON, it may be due to "noise" generated by them that's put onto the AC power line causing X10 signal interference. The XPNR stops the noise from going out onto your homes AC wiring by shunting it to ground (or AC neutral).

The XPNR noise reducer does not in any way amplify the signal nor does it couple the phases together. It just removes electrical noise from the AC that may be interfering with the X10 signals. Think of it like listing to a radio station that has a lot of static which makes it hard to hear clearly. The XPNR removes the static so the signal can be "heard" clearly by X10 modules.

Sometimes the offending device doesn't even have to be on, because most often TV's, computers, satellite receivers, DVD players, etc. still have their power supplies connected to the power line even though they are turned off. Symptoms of line noise can be modules that can be turned on but not off or off but not on. Sometimes dim commands can dim too far or just so far and then stop. These can also be signs of a phase coupling problem which is indicative of weak X10 signal strength.

Compatible with all manufacturer's X10 home automation products including those from but not limited to GE, IBM, HomeLink, Leviton, Magnavox, RCA, Radio Shack, Safety First, Smarthome, Stanley, X10, and X-10 PRO.
