This is the X-10 Powerhouse brand WS467 remote controlled wall switch module. You simply replace any existing wall switch by removing the old switch and replacing it with this one, attach the two wires with the wire nuts (included) and put the switchcover back on. If you can replace a standard wall switch, you will have no problem with installing this. Now you can turn the lights on or off and dim or brighten them using any X10 remote or controller. Use with a motion sensor to turn the lights on and off when you enter or leave a room. Or use one with the Palmpad to shut off the lights when going to bed or use a keychain remote to turn on the porch lights for safety when coming home. There's lots of possible uses for these handy little items.

These now have a new Soft Start feature which means that the lights fade up gradually in about 2 seconds rather than full bright in your face like the older ones used to do. This makes it easier on the eyes and the bulbs. When turned off, they gradually fade down to off in about 2 seconds. They also have resume dimming. This means that whatever dim level you had them set at when you turned them off, they will remember this and automatically turn back on up to that last brightness level.

You can turn the lights on or off just as you would a normal switch, except these are a pushbutton switch, not a toggle like a standard switch. These are the newest version that now has dimming capability right at the switch. You simply hold the pushbutton in to dim the lights. Release the button, then when you push and hold it again, the light starts to dim back up. You don't need to dim all the way down to start dimming back up. Can be used for the lights on the porch, hallway, garage, floods, anywhere you would use a regular wall switch. Works with any X10 transceiver module or security system base receiver for wireless remote control. Responds to X10 ON/OFF, DIM/BRIGHT, and ALL LIGHTS ON and ALL OFF commands.

This is for a single switch application where one switch controls one light. Not for use in a multiple switch setup where more than one switch operates the same light. For a multiple switch setup, you would need the WS4777 wall and companion switch set. Rated at 500 watts (incandescent lights only). 120 Volts AC. UL listed. Color is white. Wallplate not included.
